Comparing Strings

Problem

You need to compare two strings.

Solution

All of the R5RS functions are in the form stringop?, e.g. string<=? or string>?. The operators defined are >, >=, <, <=, and =.
> (string<=? "ABC" "abc")
#t
> (string<=? "abc" "abc")
#t
> (string=? "ABC" "abc")
#f
> (string<? "abd" "abc")
#f
Lower case characters are considered greater than uppercase:
> (string>? "AAA" "aaa")
#f
> (string<? "AAA" "aaa")
#t
There are also case insensitive versions in the form string-ciop?
> (string-ci=? "AAA" "aaa")
#t

Discussion

TODO: talk about case sensitivity when you're working with text that's not English.
